Recreation Aid (Lifeguard)

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation at Dyess AFB, Texas Outdoor Pool

This position is considered Flex NTE 16-Aug-2026, guaranteed 00-40 hours, $17.00 per hour

Lifeguard Certification Reimbursement: Up to $250, rules apply.
Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons.

Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area. Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administrators first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed.

Warms swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions or hazards and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail.

May operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specific standards.

Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made.

May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas, sunbathing areas, etc.
