The Family Partner provides peer mentoring, educational materials and support provided by an experienced parent to the individuals and family members of those in the Coordinated Specialty Care services for first episode psychosis. Individuals on the CSC team are between 15 and 30 years of age in their first years of primary psychotic disorder. This position has direct service time and documentation performance targets to meet. Some attendance is required at school meetings, team staffing, and other community meetings as they arise to provide family support and advocacy. Schedule is primarily 8-5 with some flexibility in the evenings and on the weekends. This position will report to Coordinated Specialty Care Program Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Family Partners hired or contracted must meet the following qualifications:
(a) Is 18 years of age or older;
(b) Has received either:
i. A high school diploma; or
ii. A high school equivalency certificate issued in accordance with the laws applicable to the issuing agency;
(c) Has at least one year of lived experience raising a child or adolescent with an emotional or mental health issue as a parent or LAR;
(d) Has at least one year of experience navigating a child-serving system (e.g. mental health, juvenile justice, social security, or special education) as a parent or LAR; and
(e) Has the ability to perform the duties of a Family Partner as outlined in the Texas Resilience and Recovery Utilization Management Guidelines.
(f) Has successfully completed the certified Family Partner training and passed the certification exam recognized by the department within one year of the date of hire for the role of Family Partner.
Must have a Texas Driver’s License and be an insurable driver.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, flexible.
