Responsible for providing case management, skills training and psychosocial rehab to a caseload of adult mental health probation customers as prescribed in the consumers’ treatment plans of care. The specialized services are contracted for by the Texas Correctional Office on Offenders with Medical & Mental Impairments. The duties include assessment, treatment planning and coordination of services with the consumer, family and local probation officer. Staff will implement skills training services to reduce consumers’ skills deficits in the area of symptom management, medication training, accessing community resources and community integration. Will complete crisis assessments and help assigned consumers access emergency psychiatric treatment as needed.
This position will also be responsible to serve another specialized caseload of mentally ill persons on release from the state prison system, ISF facilities and SAFP facilities. This position will be responsible for providing case management, skills training, psychosocial rehab and crisis services to the caseload with the goal of maintaining their mental stability to reduce recidivism back to state prison and other corrections facilities. This position will assist prison releases for their first ninety days of service with the Betty Hardwick Center and will work to transition the cases out of the TCOOMMI program into regular mental health services after ninety days of service.
Responsible to provide jail diversion duties as needed including consulting with local jails, judiciary and law enforcement to divert the mentally ill from jails to treatment.
This position is directly supervised by the MH Program Administrator/ TCOOMMI Program Director.
Qualifications:
•Requires a Bachelors Degree in Psychology or a Human Services Field from an accredited college or University.
•Must be eligible to be certified as a Qualified Mental Health Professional. Prefer previous mental health work experience with adult mental health consumers.
•Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and be an insurable driver.
Hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, flexible.

Will be eligible for a one- and two-year step increase, depending on satisfactory performance.
