Job Purpose
This position provides on-going services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through: assessment of needs, development of service plans, facilitating service linkages and monitoring for their effectiveness, provision of crisis intervention/prevention supports, and provide advocacy interventions to help individuals achieve a quality of life and community participation acceptable to the individual/legally authorized representative (LAR). This position requires the use of initiative and independent judgment, the ability to work independently within specific guidelines, the ability to communicate effectively verbally and through written documentation, and the ability to work with minimal supervision, the ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with consumers, family members, advocates, and service providers, and the ability to be thorough in assessment and documentation. The position will office primarily in Taylor County but will also serve consumers in all of the Center’s five county coverage area. This position reports directly to the Director of IDD Authority Services.
