Congressional Internship

JOB SUMMARY:
The Office of Congressman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) is currently seeking interns for the Fall semester in their Abilene District office. In the district, interns can expect to gain an understanding of how representatives help citizens with federal issues. Students will be exposed to casework inquires, policy discussions, and the latest news in Washington. Students will also be given the opportunity to work in the field with congressional 
staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicants must be motivated professionally and be dependable.
  • Hold strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Successful candidates will be mature, personable, detail-oriented, and self-starters
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answering phones
  • Corresponding with constituents
  • Attending events in the community
  • Assisting the staff with federal casework
  • Press clips/ scheduling
