CTG is seeking to fill a Network Engineer- Cisco Infrastructure opening for our client in Abilene, TX.

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Architect with deep expertise in designing and deploying enterprise-grade networks using Cisco Catalyst switching hardware and Cisco Firepower firewalls. This role will be instrumental in standing up a new network infrastructure from the ground up, ensuring scalability, security, and performance across all layers.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and implement a new enterprise network using Cisco Catalyst switches and Cisco Firepower firewalls.
Design network topology, IP addressing schemes, and routing protocols to support business requirements.
Lead network infrastructure projects from planning through execution and support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, cloud, and infrastructure to ensure seamless integration.
Develop and maintain network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of network systems.
Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices in network design.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior network engineers.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco switching equipment, particularly Cisco Catalyst series.
Proven experience deploying and managing Cisco Firepower firewalls.
Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and network segmentation.
Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
Ability to work independently and lead complex network projects.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
CCNA Certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Experience in designing networks for high availability and disaster recovery.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
