SUMMARY:Know Your Ballot Sponsored by Holland Hearing Center
DESCRIPTION:Do you know what will be on the ballot for this election season? Join our AYP program as we take a deep dive into how all of the issues on the ballot in November will impact the future of our economy and quality of life. \n\n\n\nThe Abilene Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted unanimously at their Sept. meeting to support the proposed City-wide bond issues\, the continuation of the Taylor County Events Venue District\, the proposed Wylie Independent School District Bond and 12 of the 14 proposed State Constitutional Amendments all on the ballot this November.\n\n\n\n"As the Big Country's largest business advocacy organization\, it's important to note that we are a pro-growth\, pro-community organization\," said Doug Peters\, President & CEO of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce. "We are not a 'pro-tax' organization. However\, after significant research\, discussion\, and ultimately a recommendation from the Chamber's Business Advocacy Council\, members of the member-led Board of Directors voted unanimously that each of these projects will not only help our community remain economically competitive for the future but help us continue to meet our mission of developing and promoting the economy and quality of life for all."\n\n \n\nTo help you understand the issues on the ballot\, the Chamber's Business Advocacy Committee has compiled additional information on all of the issues at the link here.\n\n\n\nSchedule of the evening: \n\n	5:00-5:45 PM Networking\n	5:45-5:50 PM Welcome/Introduction of Speakers\n	5:50-6:25 PM Speaking Portion\n	\n Mari Cockerell/Lesli Lewis (Parks & Rec)\n Jesse Pottebaum (Abilene Zoo)\n Cameron Wiley (Wiley ISD)\n Jeff Salmon/Rochelle Johnson (Venue Tax)\n	\n	\n	6:25 PM Closing Remarks/Thank You\n\n\n\nPlease note: This event is being photographed and/or videotaped and your image may be used in connection with the advertising and promotion of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce.
